ROLLER DERBY, RECORDS AND MORE…

Remember record albums? Vinyl was being celebrated in Madison last weekend at B-Side Records and Exclusive Company on State Street, Strictly Discs on Monroe, Sugar Shack on Atwood and MadCity Music Exchange on Williamson. We hit three of the five and enjoyed a day full or albums being played, live music and super friendly staffs all around. If you haven’t been to any of these stores— it’s worth your time to check ‘em out!
Another new experience: flat track roller derby! I’d done a story or two in the past, but the bout is a different beast. We played derby bingo and learned the rules along the way; plus witnessed a few records broken by members of the Mad Rollin’ Dolls. Cudos to them.  We’ll be back for the next bout with friends and family in tow.
I grew up near Green Bay, visited Madison often.. but moved out of state for several years.  And despite moving back (Madison) a few years ago, I’m still amazed at the depth of things to do here every weekend. I invite you to take a risk and try something new. You won’t regret it!
